Doc. PhDr. Pavel Sládek, Ph.D. vyučuje od roku 2007 na oboru hebraistika. V lednu 2012 se spolupodílel na založení Centra židovských studií FF UK. Ve své disertaci se zabýval klasickou rabínskou literaturou. Nakladatelství Academia vydalo jeho rozsáhlou monografii Raši (1040–1105): Vznik biblického komentáře ve frankoporýnských židovských centrech (2012). V roce 2013 absolvoval semestrální stáž na Herbert D. Katz Center for Advanced Jewish Studies při University of Pennsylvania, v roce 2016 získal Katherine F. Pantzer Jr. Fellowship in Descriptive Bibliography v Houghton Library, Harvard University. Od roku 2014 působí jako člen výkonné rady Evropské asociace židovských studií.
